Dr. Ross Tsuyuki is a Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta. He is also the Director of the Epidemiology Coordinating and Research (EPICORE) Centre and of the Centre for Community Practice Research and Interdisciplinary Strategies (COMPRIS).
His interests include improving the care of patients with heart failure and hypertension, prevention of cardiovascular disease, pharmacy practice research, provision of support for other researchers and training the next generation of health researchers.
Dr. Tsuyuki has received several awards for teaching, as well as appointment as a Fellow of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists and the American College of Cardiology. In 2005, he was recognized as the Canadian Pharmacist of the Year by the Canadian Pharmacists Association.
Dr. Tsuyuki was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. He received a BSc (Pharm) from the University of British Columbia, then completed residency at St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver. He received a PharmD from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He has also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical trials in the Division of Cardiology at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, and an MSc in Health Research Methods from McMaster University.
